First, I would like to express my heartfelt sympathy to the survivors of the earthquake and tsunami on March 11, 2011.
On February 14, Honda Trading Corporation reshuffled its management structure. As the newly appointed president and CEO of the company, I would like to make the following statements as my message.

I wish to profoundly apologize for the great inconvenience caused by a recent inappropriate dealing activity. Honda Trading is unequivocally determined not only to avoid a repeat of this indiscretion, but also to restart into the future as a Honda Trading that is reliant and trustworthy.
Honda Trading has also implemented corporate governance programs and activities, but it should be recognized that this was not necessarily enough.
We have studied the measures to prevent a recurrence in accordance with the result of our investigation on the incident. Based on the self-examination, we will strenuously carry out measures aimed at making corporate governance firm and at implementing all possible improvements and remedies.
We will strive to provide open and direct communication throughout the company with a view to preventing a recurrence of the incident. At the same time, we believe that a complete overhaul of our business control not only in Japan but also throughout the world will be necessary to enhance internal controls of our activities.

Since its establishment, Honda Trading has grown up by the mainspring “Realization of our dream pursuing creative commercial activity in Honda Group.”
Through this activity, we have built a mutual trust and shared our many joys with everyone involved in the business activities of Honda Trading such as customers, suppliers, communities, shareholders, and associates.
We will strive to globally create the site-based effective structure to regain trust relationship.

Up until now, Honda Group companies have created innovative products and services which have exceeded the expectation of the society and customers through corporate governance that is based on the Honda philosophy. All corporate bases are being strengthened to become the “Company that society wants to exist.”
The origin of our company is the fundamental principle and course of action which originates from Honda philosophy, and has been put into action ever since Honda was established.
As a member of the Honda Group, we must make advances to further enhance the trust of the society and customers based on this fundamental principle.

Honda Trading must take action through our own will, and truly achieve advanced innovation through the creative business activity in the Honda group.
Through these actions, Honda Trading will spare no efforts to realize advanced creation to meet the expectations of the stakeholders.
We firmly believe that we will be able to regain trust by accumulating these efforts step by step to solidify the base to become “Company that society wants to exist.”
